FAQ´s About Stem Cell Therapy

What are Stem Cells?

Stem cells are unique cells in the body with the ability to develop into various specialized cell types. They play a crucial role in growth, development, and tissue repair. The Adult stem cells we use, have the ability to repair and regenerate damaged tissues, making them vital for medical treatments, particularly in regenerative medicine.

How Stem Cells help my condition?

Stem cells can help your condition by targeting damaged tissues and promoting healing. When injected into the affected area, stem cells can reduce inflammation, stimulate tissue repair, and regenerate cells. This regenerative capability makes stem cell therapy effective for various conditions, including joint injuries, chronic pain, and autoimmune diseases. Additionally, stem cells possess immune-modulatory properties, which can help balance the immune system, offering relief for patients with autoimmune disorders.

Where do Stem Cells come from?

NOTE: No serious clinic, including Cellular Regeneration Clinic, has ever or will ever use Embryonic Stem Cells for treatment or research.

Stem cells can be sourced from several locations, including the patient’s own body or from a donor. In our clinic, we primarily utilize Umbilical Cord stem cells produced exclusively at our licensed cell bank. In a very small number of cases we may us bone marrow or adipose (fat) tissue,. based on the patient’s condition and treatment goals, ensuring the highest quality and effectiveness.

Why don’t we use the patients own cells from fat or bone Marrow?

While using a patient’s own cells from fat or bone marrow is an option, it may not always be the most effective choice for certain conditions. Harvesting cells from fat or bone marrow can be invasive and may result in lower cell yields or viability. Our clinic prioritizes using optimized donor-derived Umbilical Cord cells from our state-of-the-art cell bank, which are specifically processed for regenerative therapies. This ensures that patients receive the highest quality stem cells, maximizing the potential for successful outcomes.

What about rejection?

Rejection is a common patient question however neither blood type or tissue type matching is needed ( or beneficial).
MSC Stem Cells from Umbilical Cord are highly immunogenically privileged plus the antigen receptors are modified during the lab preparation process. Together this means that patients can safely receive donor cells without their immune system having problems. In very rare instances the immune system can get a bit ‘overwhelmed ‘ and the patient has a minor reaction that is easily managed.

Can I get this in US?

Interestingly the US FDA lost multiple USA lawsuits because doctors were successfully claiming the patient’s own cells were not drugs and therefore not subject to regulation. This perpetuated the use of the patient’s own (Autologous) cells. In recent years even this method has been opposed by the FDA and many US doctors have ceased the procedure. We are in favor of these stem cell treatments, and support doctors that offer them, we just are aware that using donor cells has many advantages.

The FDA has forced USA Stem Cell treatments into the gray zone, taking reliability and predictability with it/them.

Outcomes will vary between individuals. No claims are being made with regenerative therapies.
The FDA considers stem cell therapy experimental.
